Engineering Apprenticeship

Location: Torquay (UK)

Successful candidates will join the Engineering Team based in Torquay reporting to the Apprentice Supervisor. The Apprenticeship follows the National Advanced Apprenticeship scheme over 4 years, based on 4 days per week work based training at G&H and 1 day per week educational support provided by South Devon College.

Gooch & Housego (Ohio) is in need of technicians to assist in the preparation, planting and harvesting of crystal growth runs in a laboratory environment.

Optical Engineer

Location: Boston (MA, US)

This position will focus on the development of active fiber-optic laser components and modules. You will be part of our global R&D team and work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop new products for the Industrial, Aerospace & Defense (A&D) and Biophotonics market sectors. You will be directly reporting to the team Lead Engineer and closely work with other engineering and product management functions to enable new product development by managing and delivering NPI/NPD projects

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Boston (MA, US)

This position focuses on the mechanical design and environmental qualification of new fiber-optic components and modules within the Industrial, A&D and Biophotonics sectors. You will actively drive the mechanical design of new products and R&D projects from concept to commercialization in key high growth areas. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop cutting-edge and pioneering products for demanding environments.

Lead Development Engineer

Location: Boston (MA, US)

Being part of Global R&D, you will lead our fiber-optics development team in our Bedford facility, focusing on the design, development and commercialization of novel photonic components and modules within the Industrial, Aerospace & Defense and Biophotonics market sectors. You will work on exciting programs in high growth areas, such as high-energy lasers, communications and sensing on UAVs and satellites, sensing/LIDARs in harsh environments, biomedical imaging and laser surgery.

Process Engineer

Location: Ilminster (UK)

Supporting the development of new and existing manufacturing processes and supporting documentation, equipment and procedures. Documenting manufacturing methods, tooling and fixture needs and process sheets. Working as a member of a multifunctional team within a New Product Introduction environment.

Value Stream Manager AO

Location: Ilminster (UK)

To provide leadership by overseeing all functions and employees in the designated Value Stream to ensure KPI’s are achieved/exceeded.
Participate as member of the site leadership team having responsibility to achieve manufacturing performance KPI’s for the site and ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance is met for the Value Stream.
Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team through personal leadership attributes.

Logistics Team Leader

Location: Ilminster (UK)

The Logistics Team Leader is a member of the Supply Chain team and is responsible for organising the receiving, storage, issue, dispatch and recording of material movements into the factory, in and out of stores and out to the relevant customer.
The Logistics Team Leader will be responsible for maintenance of stock and traceability of records held in stores. The position is also responsible for the planning, co-ordination and control of resources in Stores to ensure KPI’s are met & exceeded.

Mechanical Design Engineer

As part of the Engineering Resources team have responsibility for meeting business commitments to key stakeholders. Additionally will develop design skills and work to the departmental processes, team work and continual improvement. Apply sound engineering principles in the development and documentation of products. Provide a service to the Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing departments.
